According to Newsday, Tony Award nominee and Broadway star Brian d'Arcy James, who is currently starring in the world premiere of the musical Giant at The Public Theater through December 2, will return to NBC's 'Smash' in the premiere episode of season 2 as Debra Messing's husband 'Frank Houston'.

From the Lark Play Development Center's BareBones® workshop program that supported Katori Hall's THE MOUNTAINTOP, Rajiv Joseph's BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO, and Kristoffer Diaz's WELCOME TO ARROYOS, the Lark announces a BareBones® workshop of THE WAY WEST by Mona Mansour, directed by Linsay Firman. The workshop runs at Lark's BareBones® Studio from November 2 - 11 at 311 West 43rd Street in New York City. Tickets are $10, $12, and $15 and are available at www.larktheatre.org.

Hurricane Sandy has caused the cancellation of much of New York's theatre over the past few days. While most shows on Broadway are returning to their normal performance schedules beginning today, many of the city's off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway theatres are still struggling. Due to Hurricane Sandy, power is still out at The Public Theater. The Public has just announced via Twitter that Joe's Pub performances for today, November 1, are cancelled; news on the other productions (GIANT, SORRY and WILD WITH HAPPY) will be announced shortly.

Television and stage star Jane Kaczmarek and Culture Clash co-founder/actor/writer Herbert Siguenza will host the 2012 LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards Ceremony on Monday, November 12, at the historic Los Angeles Theatre in downtown LA. The curtain will rise at 7:30pm.

On Monday, November 12 at 7pm Scandinavian American Theater Company presents a reading of BASTARDS OF STRINDBERG.

Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble previously announced the complete cast and creative team for their World Premiere production of Radiance, written by Cusi Cram and directed by Suzanne Agins. The complete cast of the upcoming production of Radiance includes Kelly AuCoin (Julius Caesar, Julie & Julia) and Ana Reeder (Top Girls, Sight Unseen), as well as Labyrinth Company Members Kohl Sudduth (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Take Me Out) and Aaron Roman Weiner (Thinner Than Water, The Glass Menagerie).

Son of a Gun, a new folk rock musical which was planned to begin performances at Theatre Row on Thursday, November 1 will instead begin performances on Friday, November 2.

The Public Theater has released a statement reads that 'as of noon today, October 31, The Public Theater is still without power. The building remains closed, including the box office and administrative offices. Our online ticketing, email, and phone systems are down.'

The Public has just announced via Twitter that all performances for tomorrow, October 30, are cancelled in addition to the previously announced closings for October 28 and 29.

The Old Globe's World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical ends its extended run today, October 28.

After years as a cult sensation, the concept album RAZIA'S SHADOW by Forgive Durden will make its New York stage debut in a concert presentation at Joe's Pub featuring a score by Thomas Dutton and Paul Dutton, book by Lonnie Angle, and direction by Brandon Ivie (assistant director, A Christmas Story). After quickly selling-out Wednesday, November 28th at 9:30pm, a second concert has been added on Thursday, November 29th at 7:30pm.

"Diva" impersonator and actress Carly Sakolove, will bring her zany one-woman show I HEAR VOICES to Joe's Pub this fall. The show, written by Sakolove and Tony Award® nominee Bill Russell now features new divas, new songs, and many more surprises. The revised production, marking Carly's debut at the legendary downtown venue, will play one night only tonight, October 27th at 11:30pm.
