The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Chamber Music, by Arthur Kopit, opening on Second Stage on January 18, 2013. Second Stage plays are fully rehearsed, out-of-book, stageworthy productions with a minimum of scenery and costumes.

The Players Club of Swarthmore, with license from the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) and Broadway Impact, is proud to announce a reading of "8," a play chronicling the historic trial in the federal constitutional challenge to California's Proposition 8, written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and AFER Founding Board Member Dustin Lance Black, to be presented twice, on January 4th and 5th.

Shana Farr, who last month won The Mabel Mercer Foundation's 2012 Julie Wilson Award as "a cabaret singer who is a rising star," has just completed her debut CD, titled Shana Farr: Out Of The Shadows , which will be introduced at a CD release party and performance at The Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South, in New York City tonight, November 30, at 9 PM. Ms. Farr is backed by a trio comprised of Music Director Jon Weber (piano), Adam Fisher (cello) and Dan Levinson (clarinet).

The Pearl Theatre Company presents An Evening with O. Henry, a one-night special event, on Sunday, December 2, at New York's legendary Players Club in Gramercy Park. Featuring works by the beloved American author and songs that celebrate the era, An Evening with O. Henry will benefit The Pearl; proceeds will support the company's work.

Washington National Opera (WNO) will present the world premieres of three new 20-minute operas today, November 19, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater: The Game of Hearts by composer Douglas Pew and librettist Dara Weinberg, Part of the Act by composer Liam Wade and librettist John Grimmett, and Charon by composer Scott Perkins and librettist Nat Cassidy. The three operas, each highlighting American culture and themes, are the first new works created under the auspices of the American Opera Initiative, WNO's new commissioning program.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy, the Dramatists Guild of America is cancelling their 2012 Awards Night on Monday, November 5 at The Players Club. The Dramatists Guild will reschedule the Awards Night to a later date, which will be announced in the coming weeks. Performers include the vocal sextet The Western Wind Ensemble with Charles Weaver, lute and Gabe Shuford, harpsichord, and cantor Daniel Singer.
