Actor Matthew Montelongo will join the National Tour of LOOPED starring four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Valerie Harper and Brian Hutchison. Montelongo will play the third character of "Steve", the sound technician.

Last week I had the distinct pleasure of speaking to Tony Award-winning SPRING AWAKENING songwriter Duncan Sheik all about his staggering spate of upcoming stage projects - the musical stage adaptation of the controversial Bret Easton Ellis bestseller AMERICAN PSYCHO, as well as his Steven Sater collaborations on THE NIGHTENGALE, WHISPER HOUSE, MR. CHESS and ALICE included - in addition to all about his upcoming concert appearance on November 23 at the Gramercy Theatre. Chance Theater presents two shows for your Holiday entertainment, LITTLE WOMEN: The Broadway Musical with book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, directed by Casey Long, music direction by Bill Strongin and choreography by Jessie McLean; and the ninth anniversary production of THE EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues, written by Jeff Goode and directed by Oanh Nguyen. LITTLE WOMEN will open tonight, November 17 at 8pm and continue through Sunday, December 23.

Manhattan Concert Productions has just announced Tyne Daly as Emma Goldman, Norm Lewis as Coalhouse Walker Jr., and Lea Salonga as Mother to appear in the upcoming concert performance of RAGTIME for one night only in New York's acclaimed Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday, February 18, 2013.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, kicks off its holiday season with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Director Ethan McSweeny (Much Ado About Nothing, The Merchant of Venice) takes a fresh approach to this well-loved play filled with magic and wonder. The production runs at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from tonight, November 15-December 30, 2012.

The 50th Anniversary season of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey concludes with the rarely performed comedic gem Trelawny of the Wells by renowned Victorian playwright Sir Arthur Wing Pinero. Performances begin December 5th and continue through December 30th at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. NVA presents the heartwarming and hilarious holiday show PLAID TIDINGS. A Special Holiday Edition of Forever Plaid, PLAID TIDINGS marks the return of Sparky, Jinx, Smudge, and Frankie, a teenage singing group who've been sent down to earth by the heavenly Rosemary Clooney to put a little harmony into a discordant world.

Stage, television and film star Robert Sean Leonard will star as Henry Higgins in The Old Globe's 100th anniversary production of George Bernard Shaw's masterwork, Pygmalion. The Tony Award-winning actor last appeared on the Old Globe stage as Edgar in Jack O'Brien's renowned 1993 presentation of King Lear starring Hal Holbrook. Directed by Nicholas Martin (Broadway's Butley with Nathan Lane and Present Laughter with Victor Garber), Pygmalion will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Jan. 12 - Feb. 17, 2013. Preview performances run Jan. 12 - Jan. 16. Opening night is Thursday, Jan. 17 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, Dec. 9 at 12 noon.
