The Druid Theatre Company News

One of the great things about DC theatre is that we have the opportunities to experience theater from all over the world, including from some of the most artistically renowned companies.  Take for example the Druid Theatre Company in Galway, Ireland.  Today's subject Garry Hynes is living her theatre life as Artistic Director of that esteemed company.  The Druid's production of Waiting for Godot is embarking on its year-long tour with a run at Shakespeare Theatre Company through May 20.

The League of American Orchestras has appointed Sarah E. Kelly to the position of vice president for development, League President and CEO Jesse Rosen announced today.

As previously announced, Lincoln Center Festival 2011, which runs from July 5-August 14, will offer 116 performances by ensembles and artists from some 20 countries, and will include 6 World, North American, U.S., and New York premieres unfolding in seven venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus.

In celebration of the John Millington Synge festival DruidSynge, a party was thrown at the Irish Consulate for the Druid Theatre Company

The Guthrie is proud to present the North American premiere of DruidSynge beginning Tuesday, June 27 and continuing through Saturday, July 1 on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

DriudSynge, featuring six Synge plays, headlines this year's Lincoln Center Festival 2006, opening July 10.
