Synetic Company Member Kathy Gordon was born in Oxford, England and grew up among the places that inspired Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The actress now brings her childhood familiarity with that world to the title character in Synetic Theater's 2015/16 season opener Alice in Wonderland.

Synetic Theater will open their 2015/16 Season with Alice in Wonderland, a new adaptation penned by Lloyd Rose for the Women's Voices Theatre Festival of Washington, D.C. The production will be directed and choreographed by visionary Synetic co-founders Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, respectively.

New York Ballet Theatre's performance of The Alice-in-Wonderland in Follies was a vibrant, warm change from the bitter windy atmosphere that has been encompassing Manhattan. Although snow swirled around Chelsea, inside New York Live Arts the stage was warm and mystical.

I'm all for taking classic stories and turning them on their head as long as you have something interesting to say about them. A new twist on the mythology can be quite fun. And Copious Love's "Alice in Wonderland" musical retelling, "Alice's Anthem", certainly has that with their dark and macabre modern thrill ride through Wonderland. But as much as it has going for it, it has almost as much going against it (which is not difficult in its three hour run time) as many of the scenes, like Alice, tend to lose their way and go beyond what the story wants to tell and into what felt like insider jokes and self indulgences.

This fall, Alice and all of her friends from Wonderland will find a home at Way Off Broadway when the theatre produces and area premier of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr.

Travel down the rabbit hole as Upper Darby Summer Stage closes its 39th season with Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland, Jr.,' a fun-filled stage adaptation of the classic animated film. Performances are today, August 13, and August 14, 15 at 10:30 a.m. and on August 14 at 7:30 p.m.
