Multi-award-winning stage and screen star Kathy Bates discusses her desire to return to the place where she made her original mark in show business, the theatre, following her tenure on the hit FX anthology horror series AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN, which may be expanded into a second season, Bates recently confirmed as part of a new interview.

Klausner, who will be recognized and applauded with the TRU Entrepreneur Award for her ongoing dedication in both the not-for-profit and commercial producing arenas.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre will open its 2013-14 season withMaster Class, Terrence McNally's stage biography of legendary opera diva Maria Callas. Inspired by a series of master classes conducted by Callas at the Julliard School, this sparkling, rich play with incidental music by Verdi, Puccini and Bellini puts la diva back onstage as she coaxes and inspires her 'victims' while she rivetingly regales us with secrets professional and personal of her own.

The Vineyard Theatre has announced its world-premiere production of the musical THE LANDING -- with book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, music by John Kander and directed by Walter Bobbie -- will extend its previously-announced engagement by two weeks, now scheduled to play through November 24 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.). THE LANDING began preview performances October 3 with opening night set for October 23.

Alternately dismayed and impressed by the opera students who parade before her, she retreats into recollections about the glories of her own life and career including her younger years as an ugly duckling, her fierce hatred of her rivals, the unforgiving press that savaged her early performances, her triumphs at La Scala, and her affair with Aristotle Onassis. MASTER CLASS, by the acclaimed playwright Terrence McNally, won the 1995 Tony Award.

Back in August, Sierra Boggess made her cabaret debut at 54 Below, and according to the actress herself, a live recording of the show is in the works. She revealed to Richard Ridge at last night's BIG FISH opening that her debut album will be released in late November.

On October 7, Broadway legend Chita Rivera will return to the stage in a special 80th Birthday concert benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and according to a recent interview with the Huffington Post, that's not the only thing on the triple threat's plate coming up. Rivera revealed that the Kander and Ebb musical The Visit might be heading to Broadway in 2014, following a tryout in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
