Westport Country Playhouse has released a video, taped in rehearsal, offering a look at the upcoming Tennessee Williams' play, 'Suddenly Last Summer,' on stage August 23 - September 10. The video provides insight on the play from Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director; David Kennedy, director of the production and Playhouse associate artistic director; and cast members Annalee Jefferies and Liv Rooth.

Over Labor Day weekend, Blythe Danner will join Judy Carmichael at the 2011 Tanglewood Jazz Festival in Lenox, MA to sing and talk about jazz. The program will be recorded for Carmichael's NPR show "Jazz Inspired" to be aired at a later date.

To The New Girl from the former Mrs._____: Sound Advice for my Husband's Wife or Mistress features ten different women, from all walks of life, giving advice to the 'other woman (or man, in one case)' on the proper care of their former mates. Each story explores infidelity from a unique angle: from a woman who discovers that she's the not the only woman in her town willing to indulge her husband's diapering fetish, to a women who's loyal husband of 57 years, in the last stages of Alzheimer's, develops a crush on a woman at his nursing home, to a televangelist's wife who has figured out how to make her husband's indiscretion with a man work out to her economic and emotional advantage.

As we reported on Friday, it's now confirmed, that the role of Blanche DuBois in the upcoming Broadway production of A Streetcar Named Desire will be played by seven-time NAACP Image award nominee, Nicole Ari Parker. This production is slated to hit the boards, Spring, 2012. Theatre TBA.

Portuguese theater artists Pedro Vieira and Ines Tarouca have created a dance-based performance with text and songs in Portuguese with English translation for the special centennial celebration of America's great playwright, Tennessee Williams. They were inspired by Williams' play Summer and Smoke and the main character's unfulfilled longing for the love of her life.
