Renowned actress and singer Linda Purl, best known for 'Happy Days', 'Matlock' and 'The Office' will make her solo cabaret debut at Feinstein's 54 Below on September  4th and 5th with her sensational new show 'Big Band Romance' featuring the all- female Diva Jazz Orchestra.

The American Songbook Association (ASA) is proud to present its first Annual Gala, The Joint Is Jumpin'!, a joyous celebration of contributions to the American Songbook by Black songwriters and notable singers. The ASA will also present its first annual Lifetime Achievement Award to singer Marilyn Maye. The award will be presented to Maye by her longtime friend, fashion designer, Bob Mackie. The event takes place at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 W. 42nd Street, New York City, on September 17, 2018 at 7:30 PM. The Berkshires is one of the most beautiful and cultural geographical places in the United States. It's hills have been the playpen of artists, actors, and musicians since the 1920's. For two nights only, stage and screen stars Melissa Errico and Ryan Silverman reunite on the 54 Below stage to sing some dazzling love songs, in every sense of the word, in A Broadway Romance. I was fortunate to get the chance to talk to them about everything from what to expect in 'A Broadway Romance', and how they got their start in theatre, to what keeps them coming back to the stage, parenthood, and more in the interview below!  

Marvelous Marilyn Maye has moved into the brand-new Birdland Theater for two weeks, much to the delight of the club's staff, as well as Marilyn's legion of fans. The "Queen of Cabaret" will be in residence for two weeks, running Tuesday to Saturday through August 4, with shows at 7pm each night.

Back in the day there were great night clubs with legendary singers scattered around New York City. It's 'back to the future' with the new Birdland Theater and the current performer on it's stage…..,the constantly new Marilyn Maye. With all do respects and appreciation to all the great artists that have recently inaugurated what is destined to become an entertainment landmark, the 7th show presented by Jim Caruso in the new room at Birdland has now made it official. 44th Street in NYC has some of the greatest music in the world in one of the greatest clubs on the planet. Marilyn Maye of course is arguably one of the best pop/jazz vocalists the music world has produced and it's trite to say but at 90 she still is!

A beloved entertainment icon borne from showbiz royalty, it was certainly no surprise that living legend Liza Minnelli-a past recipient of four Tony Awards, an Oscar, a special Grammy, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Emmy Award-was greeted with thunderous cheers and ovations during her recent return appearance on June 30, 2018 at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, accompanied by her friend and fellow music phenom Michael Feinstein. The one-night-only special event-billed as "Liza Minnelli and Michael Feinstein: In Conversation and Performance"-featured the award-winning singer, actress and stage superstar as, naturally, the night's main attraction, which had her singing (while seated) through a few classics while, in between, waxed nostalgic about her storied career and, of course, her famous parents, film icon Judy Garland and renowned director Vincente Minnelli.

59th street (Florence Gould Hall) heard the sounds usually found on 44th street (Birdland) for a concert in celebration of The Big Apple last night and Broadwayworld was there. Check out the photos below.

There a lot of great music and so many sterling performances during the Broadway at Birdland presentation of "New York, Old Friend!' Between singers Nicolas King, Natalie Douglas, Veronica Swift, and Clint Holmes, songwriter Ken Laub's clever material was given first-rate attention! Pianist/arranger Tedd Firth and the Diva Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Sherrie Maricle, helped make the show a super-swinging affair!

Birdland Jazz Club will present New York, Old Friend-The Songs of Ken Laub, a celebration of the sights, scenes and relationships in New York City, for one night only as part of the "Broadway at Birdland" concert series, on Monday, June 25, 2018 @7pm.

Principal Pops Conductor Michael Feinstein opens the 2018 Pasadena POPS Sierra Summer Concert Series on Saturday, June 23rd with That's Entertainment: Gershwin to Sondheim. The POPS season opener will cover the gamut of the Great American Songbook from jazz standards to Broadway hits, and vintage charts that can't be heard anywhere else. Hear your Broadway favorites from Porgy and Bess and An American in Paris to Company and Follies, plus popular standards and vintage archival surprises with Nice Work if You Can Get It, S'Wonderful, and Being Alive just to name a few.

He was just like any other audience member (late comer) at the start of a concert searching for his seat. But it was Michael Feinstein walking in from the rear of the hall, microphone in hand and singing with the backing of the Tedd Firth Big Band while locating his place on the stage of The Appel Room.

Marilyn Maye proudly celebrated her 90th birthday on April 10th by starting the run of her latest show at Feinstein's/54Below. It would be an understatement to say she blew the roof off the sold out room on opening night. (people said it was the loudest cheering they'd ever heard in the club).
