The DREAM Project united New York's most prominent philanthropists, Latino leaders, and celebrities at their annual benefit to change the lives of thousands of children and young adults in the Dominican Republic. The DREAM Project's Sixth Annual NYC Benefit, Sueños 2018, took place at The Italian Academy at Columbia University.

Royal Family Productions, a non-profit theatre company known for its innovative productions and development of new original work, will present a benefit staging of a new series of monologues entitled WOMEN ON FIRE: Stories from the Frontlines, written, curated, and directed by Royal Family artistic director Chris Henry from stories told to her by a group of anonymous women, with choreography from Lorna Ventura. The one-night- only event will take place on Sunday, March 18 at 6:30pm at the Royal Family Performing Arts Space (145 West 46th Street, 3rd Floor). Just last night, Syracuse University celebrated Taye Diggs (Class of 1993) at Syracuse University's Lubin House (11 E 61st Street). In honor of his directorial debut with 'Thoughts of a Colored Man,' they presented a reading of the new play, by Keenan Scott II with music by Madison McFerrin, for fellow alumni and invited guests.

Syracuse University's Department of Drama tackles a seminal work of modern Russian theater as it presents "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov. First performed In St. Petersburg in 1896, "The Seagull" famously flopped on its opening night and nearly drove Chekhov to abandon playwriting. In 1898, the famous director Konstantin Stanislavsky staged the play at The Moscow Art Theatre where it proved a resounding success and helped establish the company's and the playwright's reputations.

Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies (ABCs), helmed by president Gloria Gebbia, hosted its annual, star-studded Talk of the Town black-tie gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. Gala benefited breast and prostate cancer research at the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John's Health Center. Patrick M. Byrne, founder and CEO of Overstock.com was honored with the Spirit of Hope Award and Entertainment Tonight's co-anchor Nancy O'Dell was recipient of the Spirit of Entertainment Award. Singer/songwriter Bret Michaels performed and actor Taye Diggs hosted.
