Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you some cabaret highlights for this week as picked by our theatre editors, including: The Songs of Jeff Bowen; The Songs of Will Van Dyke & Jeff Talbott: A View from the River; Josh Grisetti: Don't Bother, I'm Here; Alice Ripley: All Sondheim; and An Evening with Adam Pascal.
Will Van Dyke & Jeff Talbott Will Release Debut Album Next Month

The songwriting team of Will Van Dyke and Jeff Talbott is set to release an EP of their songs called A View of the River on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. They will then follow up the release with a concert of their songs at 54 Below on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9:30 p.m.

The Public Theater's Free Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest officially opened last night, June 16, and runs through Sunday, July 5, 2015. In The Tempest, Shakespeare's classic about young love, old enemies, and the eternal magic of storytelling, Prospero, exiled to a fantastical island, unleashes a churning storm to shipwreck the traitor brother who stole his throne and settle the score once and for all. But bitter revenge is upended by newfound love in this sublime masterpiece that proves we are all 'such stuff as dreams are made on.'

Katie Thompson (Giant) and Tamika Sonja Lawrence (If/Then) join Kimberly Marable (The Lion King) making her solo debut at 42West. The evening will feature a funked up and jazzed down concert of music and storytelling including Anne Fraser Thomas (Broadway Inspirational Voices), Phyre Hawkins (The Book of Mormon) and Melvin Abston (Sister Act) Monday, March 23rd, 2015 at 8PM.
Annaleigh Ashford, Matt Doyle & More to Join Will Van Dyke at 54 Below in November

Tony Award-nominee Annaleigh Ashford and star of Book Of Mormon and War Horse, Matt Doyle will headline "Chasing The Day" a new song cycle by songwriter and Kinky Boots Associate Music Director Will Van Dyke. They will also be joined by If/Then star Tamika Sonja Lawrence and Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal) at 54 Below on Monday, November 17, 2014. The four actors will play two shows on November 17th (7:00 PM & 9:30 PM), with direction by Kerry Whigham and musical direction by Dominick Amendum. Originally released as an album on Sh-K-Boom Records in October 2010, Van Dyke's Chasing the Day has been reimagined as a song cycle about breaking up, breaking down, and breaking through, and will soon be available for theatrical licensing. Tickets for Chasing The Day at 54 Below range from $30-$65, and are on sale now at www.54below.com.
