Winner of the 2014 NYMF Developmental Reading Series, this Latin infused American musical is inspired by the true story of a Princeton Undergrad who was an undocumented child immigrant from the Dominican Republic. When Manuel gets a scholarship to study at Oxford, he's faced with the realization that he can't leave the USA. He takes on The Statue ofLiberty in the fight of a lifetime; the high-stakes boxing match that is immigration today. IsManuel worthy? Mannyville LLC and Dramatic Question Theatre in association with the New York Musical Theatre Festival will present the premiere of Manuel versus The Statue of Liberty with book by Noemi de la Puente, music by David Davila & Howard Post, Lyrics by Noemi de la Puente & David Davila with direction by Jose Zayas, choreography by Sidney Erik Wright and musical direction by Karl Hedrick. The new musical will play at the 2015 NYMF from July 21 -27 at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).

Single tickets will go on sale October 1 for individual concerts of the Oakland East Bay Symphony's 2014-2015 season. The six-concert, 26th season—Music Director and Conductor Michael Morgan's 25th with the Orchestra-- will feature the world premiere of a new work for violin and orchestra by Grammy Award-winning composer/violinist Mads Tolling, the West Coast premiere of Chris Brubeck and Guillaume Saint-James' Brothers in Arts for jazz quintet and orchestra, a semi-staged performance ofLeonard Bernstein's Candide, pianists Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner and Richard Glazier, Notes from Mexico, a holiday tribute to Pete Seeger and more. A pre-concert talk will begin one hour before each performance, and the 2014-2015 season at the Paramount Theatre runs November 7, 2014 through May 15, 2015. Hockadoo! The 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS will continue to blow the roof off of theatres across the country into the 2012 -2013 season. The season will kick off on September 11th in Portland, OR at the Keller Auditorium, and a return engagement is scheduled in the city where it all began - Memphis, TN at the Orpheum Theatre.
