An outstanding cast opened Kansas City Repertory Theatre's new production of Steven Sondheim's 1979 'Sweeny Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' at the Spencer Theater on the UMKC campus. KC Rep Artistic Director Eric Rosen does more than justice to Sondheim's incredible operatic score and the dynamic libretto by Hugh Wheeler.

With nearly a dozen Broadway credits between them, the show features stories from life backstage on Broadway as they make you laugh, cry, and some of it will even be on purpose.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director, Eric Rosen, today announced the cast for SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET which closes the 2017/2018 mainstage season at KCRep. SWEENEY TODD runs March 23 - April 15 at the Spencer Theatre on the UMKC campus and will be directed by Rosen.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, has announced the cast of the 1961 Broadway musical Subways Are for Sleeping with music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, the final show in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of the legendary composer Jule Styne. Performances are set to begin Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2018 for 11 performances only through Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is Sunday evening, February 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

As previously announced, Feinstein's/54 Below will present the rarely heard musical A Pound in Your Pocket as part of its popular Second Act Series on Wednesday, January 24th at 7:00pm. The very first collaboration from acclaimed songwriters Charles Strouse and Lee Adams, best known for Bye Bye Birdie, A Pound In Your Pocket is a delightful, Dickensian story about friendship and redemption. Strouse will be on hand at the one-night-only concert to greet fans and sign copies of his memoir, Put On A Happy Face.

Benefit concert and companion online fundraising drive to raise funds for efforts to fix New York State's cruel and unconstitutional abortion law. On January 22nd at 7pm, We Go High Singing Out for Reproductive Justice featuring some of Broadway's best and brightest voices takes place at The Triad Theatre on W. 72nd St in Manhattan.
