Night Shyamalan film Split co-starring with James McAvoy, Tony Award Winner, Theater Hall of Fame 2012 honoree and legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley will be offering a 5 day Song Interpretation & Monologue Intensive Workshop at the T. Schreiber Studio in May.  One of the foremost professional theatre studios in New York City. Established in 1969, T. Schreiber has been a home and training ground for many artists who have gone on to successful careers in theatre, film, and television. The Tony Award Winner will assist aspiring artists, educators and experienced performers in the craft of singing, acting and storytelling before she heads to Los Angeles to reprise her role of Big Edie in Grey Gardens at The Ahmanson Theater. Wells Fargo Center for the Arts announced today the addition of three new shows in 2016: Vince Gill on Wednesday March 23, Elvis Costello on Tuesday March 29 and Emmylou Harris on Friday September 30. All shows are at 8:00 pm in the Ruth Finley Person Theatre and tickets for the three new shows go on sale to the public Friday, December 18 at noon. Tickets for Vince Gill are $79 and $59; for Elvis Costello $85 and $69 and for Emmylou Harris $69 and $49 and they may be purchased online at wellsfargocenterarts.org, by calling 707-546-3600, and in person at the box office at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa. Producer Larry G. Spangler and The Spangler Group announced today that T Bone Burnett has joined the creative team of Happy Trails, the new Broadway-bound musical based on the life and career of American icons Roy Rogers and his wife Dale Evans.  The music world legend will be writing the score (music and lyrics) for the musical, which will feature a book by Academy Award-winner Marshall Brickman (Annie Hall, Manhattan, Jersey Boys, The Addams Family) and direction by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, Big River, Tommy).  Due to a scheduling conflict, the previously announced songwriting team of Alan Menken (music) and Glenn Slater (lyrics) has departed the production.  (more...)
