Ford's Theatre Presents Annual A CHRISTMAS CAROL

?The Ford's Theatre 2015-2016 season continues with A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and adapted by Michael Wilson, November 19 to December 31, 2015. Celebrated Washington stage actor Edward Gero returns for the seventh year to play Ebenezer Scrooge in the production The Washington Post hailed as "musically high-spirited" and "infectiously jolly."

Oakland University Theatre Presents EQUUS

At 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, the theatre program at Oakland University will open its production of Peter Shaffer's "Equus," a contemporary classic that startled audiences with its innovation and emotional power when it first opened in the 1970s. The original 1975 Broadway production won the Tony Award for Best Play, the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding New Foreign Play.

Today's award ceremony at the National Theatre Studio had Thelma Holt, the presenter, give the winner the cheque for £2000 to the Orange Tree Theatre for its series of collaborations, rediscoveries and new work such as the critically acclaimed Pomona. All nominees Theatre503, Crucible Studio Theatre, Ustinov Studio at Theatre Royal Bath, Southwark Playhouse and The Maria at Young Vic received a critic's speech for distinctive work.

The New Group's STEVE Begins Performances Tonight Off-Broadway

The New Group presents the world premiere of STEVE, a new play by Mark Gerrard. Directed by Cynthia Nixon, this production features Ashlie Atkinson and Francisco Pryor Garat, and as announced, Mario Cantone, Jerry Dixon, Malcolm Gets and Matt McGrath. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays tonight, November 3, through December 27 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street), with Official Opening Night set for Wednesday, November 18.

Sheffield Theatres and Orange Tree Theatre present Deborah Bruce's The Distance. Charlotte Gwinner directs Michelle Duncan (Bea), Charlotte Emmerson (Alex), Daniel Hawksford (Dewi), Charlotte Lucas(Kate), Timothy Knightley (Simon), Steven Meo (Vinnie) and Joshua Sinclair-Evans (Liam). The production opens tonight 3 November, with previews from 29 October, and runs until 14 November at Sheffield Theatres, ahead of a run at Orange Tree Theatre from 26 November to 19 December.
