Subscriptions for Florida Studio Theatre's 2013-14 Season Now on Sale

Florida Studio Theatre announces that subscriptions are now on sale for the 2013-14 Mainstage Season. While most of the productions are still being considered for the season, the opening of the Mainstage will bring Monty Python's Spamalot to life in the Gompertz Theatre. It will open on November 15, 2014 and run through January 5, 2014. Subscriptions for all four shows of the Mainstage Season are available now for as little as $45 and range from $45 - $75 and can be purchased online at FloridaStudioTheatre.org, by phone at (9410) 366-9000 or by visiting the Box Office.
Gary Littman and Matt Lutz to Join Cast of AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, 9/3

Producer Cedric Yau has announced that Gary Littman & Matt Lutz will step into the roles of Passepartout & Detective Fix (respectively) in Around the World in 80 Days, beginning Tuesday, September 3rd. They will replace John Gregorio & Stephen Guarino, whose last performance will be Sunday, September 1st. Guy LeMonnier heads the cast as the phlegmatic Phileas Fogg, with Shirine Babb & Jimmy Ray Bennett rounding out the ensemble cast. Rachel Klein directs.

Toronto's acclaimed Theatre Gargantua proudly presents the world premiere of The Sacrifice Zone, marking the Canadian debut of Australian playwright Suzie Miller of The Uncertainty Principle. Representing the culmination of the company's tenth cycle of work, The Sacrifice Zone is directed by Jacquie Thomas, Artistic Director of Theatre Gargantua, and is a dynamic investigation into the harrowing pursuit of justice after a fatal explosion in an industry town dedicated to resource extraction. The Sacrifice Zone opens November 14 and runs to November 30 (previews November 13) at the Factory Studio Theatre.

The Freedom Theatre, an independent cultural center located in the West Bank's Jenin refugee camp, announced through its American support group Friends of the Jenin Freedom Theatre, that it would tour four states in September with its production of Athol Fugard's award-winning play The Island. The play explores the lives of two prisoners who share a cell during South Africa's apartheid regime. The show will be performed at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, in the Nafe Katter Theatre Sept. 6 at 7 p.m., and Sept. 7 at 2 and 7 p.m.

The Arches, Glasgow has announced its autumn theatre season, including the return of one of their most successful productions ever, the smash hit international touring sensation Bullet Catch. The show, which has seen sell-out success in London, Edinburgh, New York and Brazil, will return to The Arches for a 2 week run in October 2013. Each night, an audience member will be asked to fire a gun live on stage, as Rob Drummond attempts the most infamous stunt of them all, so dangerous Houdini himself refused to perform it.

Florida Studio Theatre announces their participation in The Art of the Costume 'Reinvented', a costume exhibit through the State College of Florida. The exhibit takes places from September 6, 2013 through October 16, 2013 and is free to the public. This exhibition is a showcase for outrageous, extreme and sometimes unconventional theatrical costumes, created from non-traditional and or recycled materials. An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6pm - 8pm at the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th Street West.
