The Playhouse Studio is staging the hit drama by Peter Shaffer, Equus. The international hit will be directed by Playhouse stalwart Robert Craig, and begins performances on Sept. 5. The cast is a mix of new-comers and old timers at The Playhouse.

DR. Martin Dysart, a psychiatrist, is confronted with Alan Strang, a boy who has blinded six horses in a violent fit of passion. This very passion is as foreign to Dysart as the act itself. To the boy's parents it is a hideous mystery; Alan has always adored horses. To Dysart it is a psychological puzzle that leads both doctor and patient to a complex and disturbingly dramatic confrontation. This international success reached new acclaim in London and on Broadway when revived in 2008.

The cast features Alan Strang: Andrew Nowak, Horseman/Nugget: Tony Sabin Prince, Martin Dysart: Noah Wagner, Nurse: Lisa Cicchetti, Hesther Salomon: Stephanie Schulz, Frank Strang:Tom Juarez, Dora Strang: Margaret Schugt, Harry Dalton: Corky Loupe, Jill Mason: Lauren Leone Baker, Horse: Jacqueline Case, and Horse: Kevin J Prince.
