Pontine Theatre Premieres A NEW ENGLAND CHRISTMAS, 12/12-15

12 - 15 December, Pontine Theatre premieres A New England Christmas at Pontine's West End Studio Theatre. The program, underwritten by Chris Dwyer & Michael Huxtable, includes two 19th century stories which take place in New England villages. The Romance of a Christmas Card, by Kate Douglas Wiggin, and Cap'n Eli's Best Ear, by Frank Stockton. The soundtrack includes traditional melodies, many of them played and recorded by Strafford, NH's Jeffrey Zohler. Performances are Thursday and Friday at 7:30, Saturday at 4:00 and Sunday at 2:00. Tickets are $24 and may be purchased in advance at -- www.pontine.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door (cash & checks only) a half-hour prior to each performance, based on availability. Pontine's 2013-14 Season is supported by grants from the NH State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Pontine's West End Studio Theatre is located at 959 Islington Street in Portsmouth NH. The theatre is not visible from the street. Look for the big 959 on the signpost at the head of the drive. FST to Host THE PLAY'S THE THING, 1/27

Florida Studio Theatre will host The Play's The Thing: A Celebration of FST's 40th Season on January 27, 2014. It will celebrate the completion of the New Gompertz Theatre campaign, including the renovation of the Gompertz, the opening of the John C. Court Cabaret and the completion of Bowne's Lab Theatre. This event will showcase the vibrant organization that FST is today - a lively five-theatre complex that reaches over 165,000 people every year through a diversity of programs. Finks by Joe Gilford, the award-nominated play about the blacklist travails of his parents, Jack Gilford and Madeline Gilford, that received much acclaim last season at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, will debut as both a public radio and streaming podcast hosted by onetime blacklisted actor Lee Grant and in print from Dramatists Play Service Thursday, December 12, at 6:00pm at The Drama Bookshop, 250 West 40th Street.

New Hampshire Theatre Project's 25th anniversary season continues with an original adaptation of Antoine de Saint Exupery's beloved classic The Little Prince. Created by Genevieve Aichele, CJ Lewis and Shay Willard, Finding the Prince follows three soldiers and one journalist who have crashed in the desert during a nameless war. As they struggle to survive, they begin to read a tattered novel given to one of them by a dying soldier. Each character begins a journey towards coming to terms with their own 'little prince,' the deepest, sweetest part of us who knows that 'what is most important is unseen.'
