The Public Theater presents the American play Eclipsed, written by Danai Gurira. Directed by Obie Award winner Liesl Tommy and featuring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o in her New York stage debut, this powerful story of survival and resilience begins previews at The Public Theater tonight, September 29, and will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 29 with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 14.

Directed by Obie Award winner Liesl Tommy and featuring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o in her New York stage debut, this powerful story of survival and resilience begins previews at The Public Theater Tuesday, September 29 and was originally extended through Sunday, November 15. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 29 with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 14.

Initial performers have been announced for the next installment of the Broadway Sings concert series at the Highline Ballroom. Broadway Sings Sara Bareilles will feature Finding Neverland star Laura Michelle Kelly, Alysha Umphress from On the Town, Beautiful's Jessica Keenan Wynn, and Drew Gehling, currently starring in Bareilles' Broadway-Bound musical Waitress at American Repertory Theatre. A cast of 15 Broadway stars will sing completely new arrangements of the singer-songwriter's greatest hits, accompanied by a string orchestra playing original orchestrations. Previous shows in the series included Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake, and P!NK.
