Due to popular demand, McCarter Theatre has announced one additional performance of its smash-hit production of Into the Woods as reimagined by Fiasco Theater Company. Thanks to sold-out houses, great reviews, and nightly standing ovations, McCarter had previously announced it had extended the run through the matinee performance on Sunday, June 9. But fans will get one more chance! This innovative new production of the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical-theater classic must close after the added evening performance on Sunday, June 9 at 7:30pm.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway publicly announced the nominees for the 2009-10 season on Monday, April 26th at the historic Algonquin Hotel. Outer Critics Circle posted award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season. Broadway stars and former Outer Critics Circle Award honorees Rebecca Luker and Danny Burstein presided over the (11AM) announcement ceremony at Manhattan's historic Algonquin Hotel.

Based on a recommendation by the OCC Executive Committee, Special Achievement Awards will be given to David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik, and Kiril Kulish for their performances in 'Billy Elliot the Musical' and an Outstanding Ensemble Performance Award will be bestowed to the full cast of 'The Norman Conquests' (Amelia Bullmore, Jessica Hynes, Stephen Mangan, Ben Miles, Paul Ritter and Amanda Root).

On Monday, April 21st the Outer Critics Circle Awards Nominees were announced at the Algonquin Hotel in Manhattan. The Outer Circle Awards are chosen by a group a theater critics and writers covering Broadway for publications outside of the New York City area. This year, Young Frankenstein picked up the most nominations scoring a total of ten. The revival of Les Liasons Dangereuses came in at nine, South Pacific just below at eight. Glory Days was the only production in the nominating committee that was unable to attend because they missed the cut-off, and will therefore be considered for next years nominations. On Thursday, May 22 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m the Outer Critics Circle annual awards celebration dinner will be held at Sardi's Restaurant.
