V-Day is pleased to announce that renowned actor/singer LaChanze, best known for her Tony award winning performance in Broadway's The Color Purple has joined the cast of Swimming Upstream, September 10th at The Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans and September 13th at The Apollo Theater in New York City. The two-night only performances will commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and pay tribute to the women of New Orleans and the Gulf South.

According to TVGuide.com, the new ABC Family Channel series, 'Melissa and Joey' will premiere on Tuesday, August 17 and 8 pm. Starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, ten episodes have been ordered for the series. 'Melissa and Joey' stars Lawrence as a nanny working for a female politician (Hart) who is forced to take care of her sister's two kids.

Anthony Bregman of Likely Story and Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub of Big Beach announced today that Hugh Dancy ('Confessions of a Shopaholic,' 'Adam'), Kathryn Hahn ('Revolutionary Road,' 'Step Brothers'), Academy Award-nominated actress Shirley Knight, and Janet Montgomery ('Black Swan'), have joined the cast of the Jesse Peretz directed, 'My Idiot Brother,' a comedy about family and the sacrifices it takes to deal with them.

TV Land announced today that in addition to the star-studded ensemble cast of its first original sitcom, 'Hot in Cleveland,' Wayne Knight ('Seinfeld,' '3rd Rock from the Sun'), Shirley Knight ('As Good As It Gets,' 'Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood'), Huey Lewis ('Duets,' 'Just Shoot Me!'), Hal Linden ('Barney Miller'), Susan Lucci ('All My Children'), Juliet Mills ('Nanny and the Professor'), Carl Reiner ('The Dick Van Dyke Show'), John Schneider ('Dukes of Hazzard,' 'Smallville,') and Amy Yasbeck ('Wings') will make guest appearances during its first season. Knight, Lewis, Linden, Lucci, Mills, Reiner, Schneider and Yasbeck will join the sensational veteran cast of Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White for TV Land's first scripted series. Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Judy Gold, Melissa Joan Hart, Shirley Knight and Doris Roberts have signed on to lend their talents to Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash-hit Off Broadway show, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which has been playing to sold-out houses at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd Street). Judy Gold, Melissa Joan Hart and Shirley Knight will join the April cast (March 31 - April 25), and Doris Roberts will join the cast beginning April 28 (through May 23).

Melissa Joan Hart joins the cast this week of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash-hit Off Broadway show, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which has been playing to sold-out houses at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd Street). Hart will be a part of the star-studded cast (Lucy DeVito, Judy Gold, Shirley Knight, Jayne Houdyshell) from March 31st, 2010 through April 25th.
