Shields, Chlumsky, Roberts et al. Join LOVE, LOSS Tonight, 4/28

Anna Chlumsky (My Girl), Julie Halston (Gypsy), LaTanya Richardson Jackson (Freedomland), Doris Roberts ("Everybody Loves Raymond") and Brooke Shields ("Lipstick Jungle") join the May cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash hit show Love, Loss, and What I Wore beginning tonight, April 28 (through May 23). Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which opened in October 2009 and played its 200th performance on Sunday (3/28/10), has been playing to sold-out houses at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd Street).

Directed by Karen Carpenter, this collection of stories is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. Like the popular book, Love, Loss, and What I Wore uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to.

The production is performed by a rotating cast of five all-star actors, who perform in four-week cycles. The complete design team for Love, Loss, and What I Wore includes Jo Winiarski (Scenic Design), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design), Walter Trarbach (Sound Design), Matt Shea (Wardrobe Stylist) and Maria Verel (Make-Up Design).

A portion of the production's proceeds benefit Dress for Success, a charity that provides work clothing and job support for low-income women. Audience members are invited to donate their gently-used purses and other accessories in the theatre lobby. The performance schedule is as follows: Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets ($75.00) are available via Telecharge.com (212-239-6200) and in-person at the Westside Theatre Box Office (407 West 43rd Street). Same-day general rush tickets ($25.00, cash only) are available at the Westside Theatre box office, beginning at noon. (Limited to two rush tickets per person. JULIE HALSTON was recently seen in the smash hit The Divine Sister. Broadway credits include Hairspray, Gypsy, The Twentieth Century (Outer Critic Circle Nom) and The Women. Off-Broadway credits include White Chocolate (Drama League Nom),The Vagina Monologues and many more. Founding member of Charles Busch's theatre company. TV: Series regular on "The Class," Bitsy Von Muffling on "Sex and the City," recurring role on "The Electric Company." Her one woman show has been extended at Birdland three times.

DORIS ROBERTS is a five time Emmy winner, best known as Marie Barone on nine seasons of "Everybody Loves Raymond." Other notable TV: "The Lily Tomlin Comedy Hour," "Angie," "Remington Steele," "St. Elsewhere," "Maggie," "Mary Tyler Moore," "Law & Order: CI." Doris made her Broadway debut in 1955 in "The Time of Your Life" and has starred in more than a dozen NY stage productions. Films include: "A Fish in the Bathtub," "My Giant," "The Heartbreak Kid," "The Rose," "Aliens in the Attic" and many more.

BROOKE SHIELDS will next be seen opposite Brendan Fraser in Furry Vengeance. She recently wrapped production on The Greening of Whitney Brown and was seen on ABC's "The Middle," and NBC's "Lipstick Jungle." Shields began her professional career at 11 months of age when she was selected as the Ivory Snow Baby, and by age 3 was a runway model. At age 9, Shields began her extensive film career with her first acting role in Holy Terror and went on to become a child film star. In 1994, Shields made her Broadway debut as Rizzo in the hit musical Grease, for which she earned the Theatre World Award and went on to star in Chicago, Wonderful Town and Cabaret, all of which earned her rave reviews. Shields is the author of "The Brooke Book," "On Your Own," "Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression," and her first children's book, "Welcome To Your World, Baby." She recently released her second children's book "It's the Best Day Ever Dad." Shields was nominated for two Golden Globes for her hit comedy show, "Suddenly Susan" and is the recipient of five People's Choice Awards.
