Casting has been announced for the Union Theatre's final show in its current home. THE RISE AND FALL OF LITTLE VOICE stars Charlotte Gorton (Memphis, Viva Forever!) as Mari Hoff, Carly Thoms (Thoroughly Modern Mille, Sound Of Music) as LV and Ken Christiansen (Lord Of The Flies, An Inspector Calls) as Ray Say, with Glenn Adamson as Billy, Mandy Dassa as Sadie and James Peake as Mr Boo/Phone man. Alastair Knights directs.

Goodspeed Musicals continues its commitment to innovative, thought-provoking works with a bold reimagining of the witty and ridiculous The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd. The tremendously talented cast of four will be Tony Sheldon playing the role of Sir, Caesar Samayoa appearing as Cocky, Michelle Aravena as The Kid, and Gregory Treco as The Stranger.

As expected, the 40th anniversary Olivier Awards showered trophies on the sensational Gypsy. Imelda Staunton and Lara Pulver's performances and Mark Henderson's lighting were recognised, and the production took Best Musical Revival. But there were surprises elsewhere, with starry shows like Benedict Cumberbatch's Hamlet going home empty-handed, Nicole Kidman losing out in the Best Actress race, and an underdog win for Pat Kinevane and Fishamble's Silent at Soho Theatre - all welcome given concerns that changes to the Oliviers voting process might favour long-running West End shows and/or A-listers Here are some of the night's major hits and misses.
