The Chi Phil Chamber Players join spectacular virtuoso Jory Vinikour on May 5 2018 in a harpsichord extravaganza with musical selections from traditional Bach to Chicagoan composer William Ferris to Indiana University Jacobs School of Music professor Juan Orrego Salas. Headlining the program is a rare performance and Chicago premiere of 20th century Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Ned Rorem's Concertino da Camera. This piece, which was written in 1946 in the early stages of Rorem's prolific career, was thought long-lost until it resurfaced and was heard publicly at the University of Minnesota for the first time in 1993. Vinikour, known for his "spectacular displays of virtuosity and subtle dramatic expression" (Bachtrack, 2011), brings Rorem's work to life as deftly as he performs works by well-known masters.

The National Philharmonic ends its 2017-2018 season at The Music Center at Strathmore with a musical celebration, "100th Anniversary of Poland's Independence," on Saturday, June 2 at 8 p.m. at the Concert Hall at the Music Center at Strathmore. Conducted by world-renowned Polish Maestro Miros?aw Jacek Baszczyk, the concert will feature music composed by Poland's greatest musicians, performed by some of today's leading vocalists and musicians. The performance will commence with an introduction by the Ambassador of Poland, Piotr Wilczek. The 100th anniversary of Poland has significant meaning for the National Philharmonic, which is led by Polish-born Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski. One of the National Philharmonic's veteran artists, Brian Ganz-who will perform at the Polish celebration concert-is also a frequent performer of Frederic Chopin, beginning a quest in 2011 to perform all of the great Polish composer's works. During this celebratory concert, Maestro B?aszczyk will lead the National Philharmonic Chorale, accompanied by Esther Heideman, soprano; Magdalena Wor, mezzo-soprano; Tyler Duncan, baritone; and the National Philharmonic in Krzesimir D?bski's Hussars' Polonaise and Karol Szymanowski's Stabat Mater and Mr. Ganz in Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21.  Ticket prices are $23-$76 and are free for young people age 7-17. Multi-platinum band GODSMACK, today (4/27), have released WHEN LEGENDS RISE (via BMG), marking the band's seventh studio album and their first in four years. The 45th annual Bach Week Festival, with concerts April 27 and 29 in Evanston, Ill., and May 4 in Chicago, will feature new twists on presenting music by the event's namesake, German Baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

The opening night of Geneva, Switzerland's Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve, at the Joyce Theater, on April 24, 2018 was lit up with ballet stars in the audience. I have been watching this worthwhile contemporary ballet company since the 1980's, and I was delighted to be there when they opened the current program in NYC. Since the '80s, under the direction of brilliant Argentinean choreographer Oscar Araiz, this ballet company became an exemplary contemporary ballet company. Since 2003 Philippe Cohen has been the Artistic Director, bringing top contemporary choreographers to work with the company.

Doha Baroque Ensemble accomplished to examine each string of the heart of Baroque both as individually and as a whole. The playlist included some of the greatest works of magnificent minds of the era such as; Johann Hermann Schein: Suite No. 16 from Banchetto musicale, Nicola Matteis (ca. 1650-after 1714): Suite in A Major for two violins and continuo from Ayres for the violin, Johann Sebastian Bach: Suite No. 2 in B Minor for orchestra, BWV 1067 Giovanni Gabrieli, Canzon Primi Toni a 8.

A work rarely heard in its entirety, the complete Mass in B Minor by J.S. Bach was performed at the Church of the Holy Trinity, the 'Bach' church on the Upper West Side.

Stockholm-based Andersson Dance and Glasgow-based Scottish Ensemble make their Kennedy Center debuts with Goldberg Variations - ternary patterns for insomnia (2015), set to the music of one of Johann Sebastian Bach's masterpieces, April 26-28 in the Eisenhower Theater. In their own unique spin with their respective companies, 11 musicians and five dancers share the stage as equal partners, seamlessly intertwining music and dance.

Today GODSMACK premiered the official music video for 'Bulletproof,' the lead single from the multi-platinum band's upcoming WHEN LEGENDS RISE album that's due out April 27 via BMG. Directed by filmmaker Troy Smith, the satirical clip documents the band's quest to make a new video.

Boston Ballet is proud to announce an exciting schedule of three debut appearances starting this summer with special performances with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center in June 2018, followed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood in August 2018.
