As usual, the family-focused New Victory Theater was packed with kids the afternoon this reviewer took in the charms and delights of Cirque Mechanics' 42FT-A MENAGERIE OF MECHANICAL MARVELS, but you won't need the little ones around to have a great time at their display of strength, acrobatics and humor that's small in size but big on personality.

S.F.'s Flyaway Productions Performs Outside Sing Sing Correctional Facility

San Francisco's Flyaway Productions is proud to announce the East Coast premiere of THE WAIT ROOM, a performance installation that exposes the physical, psychic, and emotional burden of incarceration for women with imprisoned loved ones.  Choreography is by Jo Kreiter, recipient of a 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship and the first choreographer named as a Robert Rauschenberg Foundation 2017 Artist as Activist Fellow.   Four performances, September 20-22, in Louis Engel Park, an outdoor site next to Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York. .

Flyaway Productions is proud to announce the world premiere of THE WAIT ROOM, a site-specific dance honoring women with incarcerated loved ones. The Wait Room runs April 19 - 27, 2019, at 1125 Market Street, a vacant lot opposite United Nations Plaza at the Civic Center, with six performances at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 19 - 20, 26 - 27, and Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 - 25. Two additional matinees will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 and 27. All performances are free with no advance reservation required.

Le Petit Theatre Extends A CHRISTMAS CAROL!

Le Petit Theatre is kicking-off the holiday season with their first-annual production of Charles Dickens' beloved tale, A Christmas Carol. In addition to spreading holiday cheer, the company intends to make this production a perennial favorite for generations of New Orleanians. Most everyone knows the classic tale of miserly and menacing moneylender Ebenezer Scrooge, but not everyone has experienced watching him learn lessons in love, generosity, and redemption live and in person as he is visited by a host of spirits on Christmas Eve. This production is filled with magic, ghosts, glorious costumes, a stunning set design, and holiday cheer.

Jo Kreiter's Newest Aerial Dance Opens In San Francisco's Tenderloin This June

In partnership with the Tenderloin Museum, Flyaway Productions is proud to announce the world premiere of TENDER (n.): A PERSON WHO TAKES CHARGE, a site-specific aerial dance celebrating 100 years of "outcast activism" in the Tenderloin. Tender runs June 7 - 16 at the Cadillac Hotel, located at 380 Eddy Street, with performances at 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A matinee performance at 12:30 p.m. will take place on Friday, June 8 and 15. Two additional performances at 9:30 p.m. will take place on Saturday, June 9 and 16. All performances are free, as is admission to the Museum, located on the ground floor of the Cadillac Hotel, during each performance.

Jones evokes a neighborhood of vivid characters, telling a story about the strength of family and the choices that shape our lives.
