ODC Theatre Adds Sunday Show for RAWdance; World Premiere of DOUBLE EXPOSURE

ODC Theater is proud to present RAWdance in the world premiere of Double Exposure, a series of 12 duets each choreographed by a different West Coast choreographer or choreographic team. Artistic Directors Ryan T. Smith andWendy Rein are the evening's sole performers in an event they're calling 'the ultimate duet.' Double Exposure runs July 28 - 31, Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 - $45, and may be purchased online at odcdance.org/tickets or by phone at 415.863.9834.

Opera Parallèle to Close Season with THE LIGHTHOUSE, Today

Following its sold-out co-production with SFJAZZ of Terence Blanchard's Champion, Opera Parallèle will conclude  its 2015-2016 season with an innovative new production of the late Peter Maxwell Davies' brooding three-singer, six-character tour-de-force The Lighthouse, based on the true story of mysterious disappearances off the Hebrides islands in 1900. Conducted by Opera Parallèle founder and Artistic Director Nicole Paiement and with a production headed by Creative Director Brian Staufenbiel, The Lighthouse will be given three performances: Today, April 29, at 8 pm; Saturday, April 30, at 8 pm; and Sunday, May 1, at 4 pm, at Z Space theater, 450 Florida Street in San Francisco.  Tickets are priced from $45-$90 and may be purchased atwww.operaparallele.org.

Zaccho Dance Theatre to Showcase New Installation Based on W.E.B. DuBois, 11/1-3

Choreographer, director and Bay Area performance innovator Joanna Haigood will explore issues of race and identity in the world premiere of her new performance installation, Between me and the other world, Friday through Sunday, November 1 through 3 from 1 to 5 pm at Zaccho Studio, 1777 Yosemite Avenue, Studio 330, in San Francisco. A dynamic exploration of scholar and civil rights leader W.E.B. DuBois' concept of "double consciousness", the performance installation has been created in collaboration with composer Anthony Brown, media artist David Szlasa, scenic designer Sean Riley and performing artists Jetta Martin, Raissa Simpson, Rashidi Omari and Matthew Wickett, who together have created an immersive environment that evokes the identity duality experienced by many people of color.
