Mint announced "Meet Miss Baker," Mint's latest effort in its ongoing commitment to create new life for neglected women playwrights. From Pulitzer-Prize winning plays by Zona Gale and Susan Glaspell, to forgotten works by Rachel Crothers, Cicely Hamilton, Githa Sowerby, Hazel Ellis, Maurine Dallas Watkins, Lillian Hellman, Rose Franken and Dawn Powell, Mint has long been a champion of neglected plays by women. Up next is English playwright Elizabeth Baker, who will receive three productions, each getting their American premiere, over the next two years.

Acclaimed British director Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High Rise) has signed on to direct a new adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's classic, romantic, gothic thriller penned by screenwriter Jane Goldman (Kingsman series, X-Men: First Class). It tells the story of a newly-married young woman who, on arriving at her husband's imposing family estate on a bleak English coast, finds herself battling the shadow of his dead first wife, the mysterious Rebecca, whose legacy continues to haunt the house.

A special matinee today, October 27 at the David H. Koch Theater will feature family friendly programming from American Ballet Theatre's 2018 Fall Season, Halloween-themed activities and discounted pricing for children.

Stoney Creek Records' platinum-selling band, Parmalee today released, “Down Town (Hurricane Florence Relief Song),” a brand-new track inspired by the devastation caused by Hurricane Florence in North and South Carolina. The band's own Matt Thomas, moved by the destruction the deadly storm left in its wake and the resilience shown by the citizens of the Carolinas, penned the song in tribute to the Country quartet's home state. Proceeds from the recording will be donated to Hurricane Florence victims through the Red Cross.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

More artists have been announced to perform at the Chillin' on the Lucie music festival in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Oct. 3 - 7. Uncle Kracker has joined the roster, as well as Cassadee Pope, Parmalee, Josh Gracin, Clare Dunn, Kalie Shorr, Hudson Moore and Lewis Brice. Twang and Round, Radio Romance, Julia Cole, Honey County, County Wide and Libby Switzer are also set to perform. Lifetime announced today an expanded slate of royal wedding programming leading into the real-life wedding of Prince HARRY and Meghan Markle. Kicking off the week is the Lifetime Feature, HARRY & Meghan: A Royal Romance premiering Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13 at 8 pm ET/PT followed by the documentary special, HARRY & Meghan: Royal Rebels and the BIOGRAPHY special, Kate Middleton: Uncommon Bride. Sony Music proudly announces the release ofTOMB RAIDER(Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) featuring the music of Dutch composer Tom Holkenborg, a.k.a. Junkie XL. The soundtrack will be released digitally and on CD on March 9. The movie will be released in theaters in the U.S. on March 16.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Sony Pictures Classics' film adaptation of Anton Chekhov's THE SEAGULL, is set to be released in May 2018. The film is directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer and adapted for the screen by Tony winner Stephen Karam. The Seagull is fresh and modern and as relevant now as when it was first produced in 1903 Russia. It is the story of eight people, all of whom are fatally in love with the wrong person.

In Sally Potter's new dark comedy THE PARTY, Janet (Kristin Scott Thomas) is hosting an intimate gathering of friends in her London home to celebrate her political ascension, while her husband, Bill (Timothy Spall), seems preoccupied. Janet's acerbic best friend, April (Patricia Clarkson) arrives and others follow, some with their own dramatic news to share, but an announcement by Bill provokes a series of revelations that gradually unravel the sophisticated soiree, and a night that began with champagne may end with gunplay.

The New School's School of Drama's newest playwriting talent will be on display during the New Voices Playwrights Festival, featuring four original plays performed in repertory February 17-24 and April 21-28, 2018. Showcasing the work of this year's graduating playwriting MFAs, the festival also highlights Drama's MFA actors and directors.
