As the summer comes to a close and co-eds head back to school, Lifetime delivers five spirited movies revealing the dark side of cheerleading in the Cheer, Rally, Kill line-up of movies, premiering between September 2nd through September 15th. Denise Richards (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) and Savannah May headline The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders, premiering on Labor Day, Monday September 2. Four additional movies will air on back-to-back weekends as the dog days of summer wane. Identity Theft of a Cheerleader featuring Gail O' Grady and Maiara Walsh debuts September 7th, The Wrong Cheerleader starring Vivica A. Fox and Cristine Prosperi airs September 8th, The Cheerleader Escort with Alexandra Beaton premieres September 14th, and Undercover Cheerleader starring Kayla Wallace closes the slate on September 15th. Nickelodeon, the number-one network for kids, announced today that RISE of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the reimagined 2D-animated series, has been greenlit for a second season with 26 episodes. The action-comedy follows the band of brothers, Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey, as they discover new powers and encounter a mystical world they never knew existed beneath the streets of New York City. Season two will begin production this fall at Nickelodeon's headquarters in Burbank, Calif.

Thirty-nine students from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre have been bestowed with the honor and invited to participate in the 2015 Junior Theater Festival (JTF) held in Atlanta, Georgia on January 16, 17, and 18. Created by New York's iTheatrics and produced by the Junior Theatre group, this nationwide event is dedicated to celebrating young people and musical theatre.

Just like Auntie Mame sings in MAME, we all need a little Christmas! And, for some unsuspecting Houstonians, Buddy the Elf and two of his elf friends, Peppermint Stix and Salty Snow (a.k.a. Salt and Pepper), took to the METRORail yesterday to share their Sparklejollytwinklejingley joy! The ebuillent trio rode the METRORail during the lunch hour on Tuesday, December 10 and greeted metro riders and anyone else they could find hanging about the rail stops.

ELF, a holiday themed musical, first opened on Broadway in 2010. With the 2003 motion picture of the same title starring Will Ferrell as source material, theatergoers all over were interested in the sugarcoated musical. Negative reviews lead to a re-tooling of the show, and it returned to Broadway in 2012 in addition to having a mini tour of the US. Now, in 2013, Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) is bringing the confection to Houston audiences with a locally produced production of the saccharine holiday confection that is rather donuts for dinner.
