WOW - Women of the World - has announced two major events across International Women's Day 2019 to address the state of gender equality today.

The first production from Leicester's newly re-opened Haymarket Theatre will be the world premiere of Treasure Island, penned by national treasure and established author Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake Off, QI).

BAFTA has revealed the intake of new members for 2018.

The WFTV Awards, supported by Sky, are our annual celebration of the most talented women in UK film, TV and digital media. This year the Awards will take place on Friday 7 December at London Hilton on Park Lane, with a 1,000-strong guest list of influential industry figures.

The WOW Foundation has today announced plans for London 2019, in the build up to further activity across the UK and the rest of the world over the next two years. The London events, taking place 8-9 March, over International Women's Day, include talks with legendary activist and writer Angela Davis, award-winning journalist and author Naomi Klein as well as the launch of major new international anthology New Daughters of Africa edited by Margaret Busby. The programme also features events with Jo Brand and Catherine Mayer, and two global conversations WOW presents: What Now? and WOW presents: What Next? bringing together thousands of women from across all industries and communities to imagine and debate the future of gender equality. Tickets are on sale to Southbank Centre Members from today and to the public tomorrow, 6 December. There will be over 500 tickets available to schools.

Sandi Toksvig is touring a brand new, one-woman comedy show throughout the UK and is coming to Darlington Hippodrome on Friday 11 January.

Tickets for MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY will go on sale at 9.00am on Tuesday 2 October. This new immersive theatrical and dining experience will open in a specially-adapted venue within London's The O2 on Thursday 19 September 2019, following previews from 29 August 2019.

Daniel Schumann, Lee Dean and Cambridge Arts Theatre in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre today announce John Stahl (Big Ger Cafferty) and Cathy Tyson (Siobhan Clarke) will join Charles Lawson (John Rebus) in Rebus: Long Shadows, a brand new Rebus story written exclusively for the stage by author of the original novels, Ian Rankin and playwright Rona Munro. The Royal Theatrical Support Trust's prestigious accolade, the RTST Director Award - which provides a rare opportunity for up-and-coming directors to make their mark in British theatre and provides grant support to British regional theatres - has been re-named, with immediate effect, the RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award.
