Written and composed by O-Lan Jones, in collaboration with critically acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Emmett Tinley, ICELAND is a modern love story, set in a mythical and timeless world, where ancient creatures challenge the hero and heroine on an archetypal journey. The work tells an intimate story, beginning in an Icelandic airport and journeying off the map of the known world, into the realm of "The Hiddenfolk" and the vast mythic inner landscapes of Iceland. The ICELAND Concert at the Ford, presented for the first time with full orchestration and complete score, will be directed and choreographed by local legend Ken Roht, with musical direction by David O, as well as additional creative scenic design elements and impressionistic costumes. Dreams came true for singer Rufus Wainwright earlier this week, when he got to duet with Barbra Streisand...well, sort of. Both performers took part in an NYC fundraiser for Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and when Streisand crooned 'Happy Days Are Here Again,' he just couldn't resist.

The evening belonged to Hillary and Streisand. Streisand's set started out with 'Everything' from her 1970 film A STAR IS BORN, 'Being at War With Each other' by Carole King, 'Losing My Mind' by Stephen Sondheim from her new ENCORE album and 'Pure Imagination' addressing the environment (also from ENCORE). Then the place went wild when she performed Stephen Sondheim's 'Send in the Clowns' with re-written lyrics skewering Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. The audience went wild and Barbra received 9 standing ovations!

The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.
