San Francisco Playhouse (Bill English, Artistic Director; Susi Damilano, Producing Director) kicks off the new year with the off-Broadway hit The Christians by Lucas Hnath.

Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre, Christopher Haydon, today announces the cast for the UK premiere of Danai Gurira's The Convert. Following the success of her critically acclaimed Eclipsed, which ran at the Gate in 2015, Gurira's The Convert will open the Gate's Resist! season, a series of plays about rebellion and revolution.

James Bundy, Dean, has announced the appointment of Tarell Alvin McCraney as the Chair of the Department of Playwriting at Yale School of Drama, effective July 1, 2017, for a three-year term.

The encore engagement of The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe's debut play opens tonight at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. In response to popular demand, The Playwrights Realm, by arrangement with Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, has extended the encore engagement of the production through December 29.  

B Street Theatre is excited to open the 2017 B3 Series Season with Lucas Hnath's The Christians.

Today Shoreditch Town Hall announces an immersive double-bill of Philip Ridley plays, including the world premiere of Killer and a new production of Ridley's contemporary classic The Pitchfork Disney, his first stage play which premiered in 1991. The productions will both be directed by Jamie Lloyd and run in 'The Ditch' basement spaces of Shoreditch Town Hall in spring 2017.

The New Group announces additional casting for productions coming up in the company's 2016-2017 Season.

Steep Theatre will present the first professional U.S. production of Tony nominee and Olivier Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett's Earthquakes in London, opening January 26, 2017. Steep's production opens on the heels of another Chicago production of this enormously exciting playwright's work, the critically-acclaimed King Charles III at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Earthquakes will be helmed by one of Chicago's most exciting talents, Steep Ensemble Member and Jeff Award-winning director Jonathan Berry.  Berry recently directed Steppenwolf Theatre's Constellations, and, over the years, has consistently produced some of Steep's most notable shows, including Season 15's Posh by Laura Wade, which won the Non-Equity Jeff Award for Best Ensemble, and was nominated for Best Director and Best Production. 

Steppenwolf continues its 41st season with the Chicago premiere of Lucas Hnath's The Christians directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman.

Now considered one of Scotland's defining literary works of the twentieth century, the second installment of the much-loved Slab Boys trilogy, Cuttin' A Rug will be staged by Citizens Theatre in Glasgow and Edinburgh this February and March.

The Playwrights Realm welcomes back The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe's debut play. The most recent addition is Kate Arrington, who will star alongside the original soccer team cast including Susannah Perkins, Lauren Patten (Fun Home), Jenna Dioguardi, Tedra Millan, Sarah Mezzanotte, Brenna Coates, Samia Finnerty, Midori Francis, and Lizzy Jutila.

Pipeline-Collective presents the Nashville premiere of Nick Payne's award-winning play Constellations at the Belmont Little Theatre, running December 16, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by David Ian Lee, the plays stars Jason Griffith and Karen Sternberg.

The cast for Winter Solstice, which receives its English Language premiere at the Orange Tree Theatre in early 2017, has been announced.
