Penobscot Theatre Company proudly announces its 2018-2019 Season, an assortment of plays and musicals professionally produced and staged at the company's historic home, the Bangor Opera House. The season will open just after Labor Day and extend into early July with a surprise seventh show, to be announced at a later date. 'If there's a unifying theme for our 45th season,' said Producing Artistic Director Bari Newport, 'it's family. Through these compelling stories we'll introduce families of various stripes-from nuclear to nontraditional, embattled to emboldened-while growing our own family of subscribers.'

Audiences are invited to rock, pop and doo-wop to the sounds of the Marietta Theatre Company's latest musical production --The Marvelous Wonderettes! Written and created by Roger Bean, the tribute to the timeless tunes from the 1950s and 1960s is set to take audiences on a melodic journey back in time when boys, big hair and bigger singing dreams occupied the minds of the Springfield High School Wonderettes. Playing from April 13 through April 28 at the Lyric Studio on the Square, this off-Broadway hit is a colorful concert fit for the whole family.

Delight and hum along to the '60s mega-hits Fools Fall in Love, Tears on My Pillow, Runaround Sue, Stay Just a Little Bit Longer, Unchained Melody, The Glory of Love, and as the DJs used to say on the radio, many, many more. No doubt most of us have fond memories of our senior year in high school, with our Senior Prom being one of the many highlights of that year. Nostalgia for that year fuels the happy story of four friends in THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES, a 1999 musical comedy with a book by Roger Bean that has gone on to be presented in countless productions all over the world, including the current one being presented at Crown City Theatre in NoHo through February 25, 2018, directed and choreographed to bring back starlight memories by Robert Marra with musical direction by William A. Reilly.
