The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents The Trumpet of the Swan, A Novel Symphony for Actors and Orchestra, adapted by Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman from E.B. White's timeless children's novel, with music by Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown. GOOD TELEVISION direct from its Off-Broadway premiere at the Atlantic Theatre, FIRST post- NYC production, playwright Rod McLachlan pulls back the curtain on television drama at its most extreme. Connie is an intervention counselor and producer on a reality television series, which profiles people suffering from addiction. Against her better judgment, her superiors convince her to take on a special, risky case in the hopes of making a riveting, explosive episode. When Connie and her colleagues travel to South Carolina to interview a young meth addict and his family, Connie's own demons resurface and the "explosive episode" threatens to blow up in her face. Donmar Warehouse to Transfer THE NIGHT ALIVE and THE WEIR

The Donmar Warehouse is preparing to transfer both of its critically acclaimed Conor McPherson productions, The Night Alive and The Weir, within the next two months. The Night Alive will make its American premiere at The Atlantic Theater off-Broadway on the 30 November 2013, with The Weir opening at Wyndham's Theatre in the West End on the 16 January 2014. Frederick Knott's psychological thriller Wait Until Dark first premiered on Broadway in 1966 with Lee Remick in the title role and was later turned into a film with Audrey Hepburn. The latest adaptation of the play at the Geffen is by Jeffrey Hatcher, who has moved the action from the 60s to the 40s. The concept has piqued a lot of interest, but upon seeing the finished product, the whole business seems curious. (more...)
