Alfred Molina, Bill Irwin Sign on to Star in CHELSEA GENERAL

According to Deadline, Broadway veterans Alfred Molina and Bill Irwin, will star on TNT's 'Chelsea General,' based on Sanjay Gupta's 'Monday Mornings.' Molina will play 'Dr. Harding Hooten, the steely-eyed Chief of Surgery at Chelsea General, known for his punishing and outwardly-uncaring ways.' Irwin will play 'Dr. Buck Tierney, a smug doctor who takes himself very seriously and rubs his colleagues the wrong way.'

Today in 1957 Waiting for Godot opened at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, where it ran for 6 performances. An absurdist play by Samuel Beckett, it revolves around two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, who wait endlessly and in vain for someone named Godot to arrive. Godot's absence, as well as numerous other aspects of the play, have led to many different interpretations since the play's premiere. Since its US premiere in 1956, several notable revivals have been produced, including the 1988 production featuring Robin Williams and Steve Martin, and the 2009 revival starring Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin.

The heart-tugging original feel-good series 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' concludes its 9th and final season on ABC with two episodes in January 2012, including its biggest-ever build -- the 200th episode, in which the team builds 7 homes in 7 days for tornado victims in Joplin, Missouri. The final two regularly scheduled episodes, 'Gibbs Family' and 'Joplin, Missouri,' will air January 6 and January 13, respectively (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' will continue on ABC with specials after this season.

The Town Hall has just announced the 12th Season of their acclaimed BROADWAY BY THE YEAR® concert series which kicks off with THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1946 on Monday, February 13, 2012. The show is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Initial casting includes Alice Ripley, the Tony® Award winning star of Next to Normal, Tom Wopat (Tony® Award nominated for his role of Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun revival/Catch Me if You Can), Kerry O'Malley (On a Clear Day…Annie Get Your Gun revival) and Noah Racey (Curtains), who will also choreograph. The evening will feature songs and dance from Irving Berlin's classic Annie Get Your Gun and other musicals including Call Me Mister, St. Louis Woman and Park Avenue. Ross Patterson is the musical director.
