Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays continues club comedy performances on the square in downtown Lawrenceville with nationally renowned comedian Tom Simmons. Simmons is the 2009 San Francisco Comedy Competition Winner, an event from which talents like Robin Williams and Ellen DeGeneres rose to fame and a two-time finalist at the Boston Comedy Festival. Opening is the new permanent host of Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays, comedienne Debra Cole an Atlanta favorite. See them both on March 16, with shows at 7:15 & 9:15 PM.

BBC has announced that THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW and THE THICK OF IT will return for American audiences this year. The eleventh season of THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW premieres Saturday, April 28, 11:00pm ET/PT. THE THICK OF IT is set to premiere Saturday, April 29, 12:00am ET/PT. Both shows are featured as part of The Ministry of Laughs.

When the sad news came out this morning that famed Disney songwriter Robert B. Sherman died yesterday, March 5, in London, some of our first thoughts here at BroadwayWorld went out to Tony-winner Marc Shaiman. Shaiman had been a huge proponent of the incredible 'THE BOYS - The Sherman Brothers' Story' documentary and it was his enthusiasm that sent us off to see the fantastic film, and our lives were better off for it. We asked Marc to put together some of his thoughts on Robert Sherman and are proud to present them below.

La Jolla Playhouse just announced that The Nightingale, by the creative team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening: Steven Sater (book and lyrics) and Duncan Sheik (music), directed by Tony Award nominee Moises Kaufman (33 Variations), will be part of the Playhouse's 2012/2013 season.
