by Stephen Hanks
- Mar 6, 2013
The cabaret gods must be smiling on this reviewer because this past Saturday evening my wife and I celebrated her birthday with an intimate dinner in between a couple of totally engaging shows from two lovely ladies of cabaret; the beautiful Jillian Laurain paying homage to classic Broadway show tunes at the Metropolitan Room, and the beguiling Stacy Sullivan in her MAC and BroadwayWorld.com Award-nominated tribute to Peggy Lee, 'It's a Good Day,' at the Cafe Carlyle. For me and the Birthday Girl, it was definitely a good night.

BWW Interview: AMERICAN IDOL Winner Phillip Phillips Chats About his IDOL Experiences and More
by Kathy Strain
- Feb 14, 2013
Phillip Phillips grew up in Georgia and enjoyed spending time with his family. Everyone in his family loved singing and Phillip started to take an interest in music after hearing his siblings sing. When he auditioned for American Idol, he was sure that they were going to give him terrible feedback. But, instead, he became the 11th Season winner of American Idol. I recently had the chance to interview Phillip while he was touring with Matchbox Twenty. As he shared his experiences, it was easy to see why America fell in love with Phillip and his unique style of music.

Singer-songwriter Charlie Scopoletti has endured a life of challenges, beating back cancer twice (including once as a child,) overcoming other physical adversity (a collapsed lung and a horribly broken leg,) and more. Rather than be undone by his battles, they've inspired him, and the result is a soulful pop/rock collection, ‘Truth', which he defines as‘perspective music'.

Night five of the Battle Rounds on NBC's The Voice tonight showed that dreams do come true. Week two of the Battle Rounds commenced tonight with some surprising stealing and very strong emotions across the board. VOICE OVER: The Battles Seem More Like Friendly Duets
by Sally Henry

While Mondays get a really bad rep for being the start of a work week, those who have been watching The Voice for a while know with that show, there is now something redeemable about such a universally un-motivating day. The Battle Rounds week two continued in full force. However, with the compatibility of all of these singers, the audience was left wondering if these should be called the "Battle Rounds" at all, because nothing about tonight resembled a battlefield.

by Sally Henry
- Oct 8, 2012
On NBC's The Voice, tonight marked the start of the battle rounds! The last two weeks were the blind auditions in which singers auditioned, the coaches decided whether or not they wanted the singer, and the performers themselves chose which team they wanted to join. So now, it's almost a completely different show. Now it's about each artist competing against another awesome singer to stay on the show.

Tonight's episode of The Voice was slightly unusual because it was almost a recap in and of itself. The purpose of the show tonight was to refresh the audience on who the contestants were, what they sang, and of course on whose team they are now.
