Kathleen Spehar Hansen, Managing Director of the History Theatre, has accepted a position as Director of the O'Shaughnessy Auditorium on the campus of St. Catherine University in St. Paul.

History Theatre has named Austene Van as Associate Artistic Director, beginning in the 2011-2012 season.

Last night, April 4, The Point Foundation, celebrating LGBT leaders, hosted a benefit last night in New York City, co-hosted by Kelly Ripa and Sam Champion. Participants in the event included performers Montego Glover (Memphis), Kerry Butler (Catch Me If You Can) and Rob Thomas (Matchbox Twenty), Ellen Barkin, Iman, Isaac Mizrahi, John Benjamin Hickey (The C Word), Thomas Roberts (MSNBC) and Marsha Thomason (White Collar). Season 7 American Idol winner David Cook has recorded the farewell song for the 10th season of American Idol. The song, chosen by American Idol creator and Executive Producer Simon Fuller, is a remake of Simple Minds 1985 smash 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' will air each week as contestants are eliminated. Lead producers Margo Lion and Hal Luftig announced today that the new musical CATCH ME IF YOU CAN will open on Broadway Sunday, April 10, 2011 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. This new musical, created by a team of Tony winners, features a book by Terrence McNally, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, choreography by Jerry Mitchell and is directed by Jack O'Brien. Previews begin March 7, 2011. Casting and additional design team will be announced shortly.

The first annual Warwick Jazz Festival will take place from August 26th to the 29th.
