Sound problems mar an otherwise spectacular tour.

York Little Theatre's  professional staff is ready to take children to other lands through the magic of theater in their week long theater camps. Campers will learn the fundamentals of acting by exploring and developing  all of the actor's tools: expression, movement, voice and imagination.  Audition techniques, prop and set design will also be explored. York Little Theatre's camps are filled with stimulating fun that will culminate with a performance on Friday for family and friends. The Magical Makeup class will explore fundamentals of designing and applying make-up for theater.

Watching Matilda the musical is like witnessing something as close to musical theatre perfection as you can get. The detail in this masterpiece is so intricate & refined. I'm still trying to find fault in the show, to give a balanced objective summation of the work. And yet as hard as I try I cannot think of a single moment that didn't work, a cast member out of place a or time where my mind wandered. Dennis Kelly's writing is brilliant Tim Minchin's lyric and score unconventionally perfect and Matthew Warchus' staging thrilling.

Matilda the Musical is an absolute joy to experience at the Fisher Theatre. The magic, the music, and the extremely talented cast - both children and adults alike - make it one of the most fun and unique shows that has come around to Detroit.

Broadway's got the golden ticket! Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions announced that Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will open its gates on Broadway in the spring of 2017, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Joshua Bergasse. Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY has music by Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award winners Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, and a book by Artistic Director of Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum theatre David Greig. Five aspiring stage managers have won their big break into the theatre industry after receiving a Golden Ticket to a week-long paid work placement on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the record-breaking West End musical, directed by Sam Mendes.

Penobscot Theatre Company is now registering youths aged 4-15 for its upcoming Dramatic Academy spring production of FANTASTIC MR. FOX.

Flat Rock Playhouse and Studio 52 will present a new musical version of Roald Dahl's JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, Jr. from March 11 through 20 at the Playhouse Downtown. Written in 1961, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH was the first novel Dahl penned for children before going on to author Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and many others including the film adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Broadwayworld.com NJ interviewed Stephen Fox, the Musical Director of 'James and the Giant Peach' at The Growing Stage, the Children's Theatre of New Jersey. The show runs from March 11th through April 3rd.

"I saw Matilda on Broadway for the first time after I had been cast in the show. At intermission, I said to my wife, 'this could be my favorite show I've ever seen.' I'm not a musical theatre person, yet it is one of the most unique things I have ever witnessed on stage,' said Quinn Mattfeld, who plays Mr. Wormood, in Matilda the Musical, which arrives this Thursday, March 9th at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit.

he Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, presents the New Jersey premiere of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, has Music and Lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a Book by Timothy Allen McDonald. It was originally produced at Seattle Children's Theater under the director of Linda Hartzell. This production is under the direction of Stephen L. Fredericks, The Growing Stage's Executive Director with musical direction by Stephen Fox and Choreography by Jillian Petrie.
