Show business tour de force Jamie deRoy brings some of Broadways favorite stars for an exclusive one night only cabaret show to New York's new Birdland Theater, Sunday, October 14th, at 7:30 p.m. 

It's a Jule Styne Celebration! The York Theatre Company presents the 1968 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, Hallelujah, Baby!, with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and book by Arthur Laurents, the first of three shows in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of composer Jule Styne.

Even if you've never heard a note sung by Ella Fitzgerald (and if that's the case, you should stop reading this review immediately and look up some of her recordings on YouTube) Andrea Frierson's duo-bio solo show, ME & ELLA, can be related to by anyone whose life was influenced by a popular artist they've never met.

The York Theatre Company's 2017 summer New2NY Series presentation of the new musical Me & Ella, written and performed by Andrea Frierson (Once on This Island, The Lion King), direction by the Tony Award-winning team of Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel (Jay Johnson: The Two and Only), with music direction and arrangements by Ron Abel (Hazel, A Musical Maid in America, 'Happily Divorced') opened last night, July 16.

Set against the restless backdrop of the 20th Century and the lush serenity of the Ella Fitzgerald songbook, Broadway veteran Andrea Frierson's Me & Ella is a valentine to the "First Lady of Song."

Feinstein's/54 Below is a a chameleon of a performance space because of the eclectic mix of entertainment that perform on it's stage. Broadway is the main theme but sometimes it becomes one of the great nightclubs of the 50's & 60's like Basin Street East, The Embers, The Persian Room etc.

This weekend, April 25, 26 and 27, one of the contemporary music world's most innovative and exciting figures heads back to Houston. On Friday, October 4, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opened its 2013-2014 concert season at Carnegie Hall with special guest Chris Botti. Chris Botti returns to the Blue Note with his band this Monday for his annual 3-week residency including New Year's Eve. This year's lineup features Chris Botti (trumpet), Billy Kilson (drums), Billy Childs(piano), Lisa Fischer (vocals), Ben Butler (guitar 12/17-26),Leonardo Amuedo (guitar 12/27-1/6), Richie Goods (bass), Andy Ezrin (keyboards), Arianna Warsaw-Fan (violin 12/17-26), andCaroline Campbell (violin 12/27-1/6). New Year's Eve will include a champagne toast, hats, noisemakers, a countdown and balloon drop.
