Barter's biggest season yet will kickoff February 5th with a limited run of The Road to Appomattox at Barter Stage II. The Road to Appomattox, penned by Barter Theatre's Playwright-in-Residence Catherine Bush, captures a couple's road trip as they retrace the route of General Robert E. Lee's final retreat.

Cincinnati Playhouse's Off the Hill Series Continues with THEORY OF MIND, Now thru 2/22

The 2014-15 season of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's popular Off the Hill series for families continues with THEORY OF MIND by Ken LaZebnik. A sensitive, unsentimental portrait of relationships, it tells the story of Bill, a teenager who happens to live on the autism spectrum. Recommended for ages 11 and up, THEORY OF MIND will tour to community venues throughout the Tristate from tonight, Jan. 23 through Feb. 22. It will also be performed at Music Hall on Sunday, March 8, as part of Macy's Arts Sampler.

Tarragon Theatre presents the English-language premiere of Abyss, written and translated by Tarragon's first-ever International playwright-in-residence Maria Milisavljevic and directed by Artistic Director Richard Rose. This poetic thriller about a missing woman premiered (as Brandung) at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, winning the prestigious 2013 Kleist Promotional Award for Young Dramatists. Abyss opens February 11 and runs to March 15, 2015 (previewing from February 3) in Tarragon's Extraspace, and marks the Canadian debut of German playwright Milisavljevic.

Barter Theatre will host a one-night-only reading of '8' on October 22 at 7:15 pm at The Tent on Barter Square. '8' is a play chronicling the historic trial in the federal constitutional challenge to California's Proposition 8, an attempt to ban same-sex marriage, and is written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and American Foundation of Equal Rights (AFER) Founding Board Member Dustin Lance Black.
