Today, Michael Riedel fills in a few more blanks in the New York Post, including word that producer Robert Fox has signed on, as well as director Richard Eyre (the National Theater, Mary Poppins). The show is next headed for a reading in London next week, followed by a summertime presentation at Lloyd Webber's annual Sydmonton Festival if all goes well. Riedel also adds that the composer wants Julian Ovenden (last seen in Death Takes a Holiday), to star.

Memphis 'most eagerly awaited stage production Mary Poppins will arrive at The Orpheum Theatre Tuesday, February 5th and will run through Sunday, February 10th.

The New York Times is reporting that MARY POPPINS will close on Broadway on March 3, 2013 to make way for renovations , followed by its next tenant 'A musical adaptation of the company's 1992 animated film "Aladdin," according to two Broadway theater executives. The two executives spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss production plans that remain confidential. A Disney spokesman did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment on Monday.'

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for Flashdance-The Musical and Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, both running in Minneapolis in April, will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. Flashdance-The Musical, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, will debut in Minnesota April 2-7, 2013. Mary Poppins, combining the original stories of P.L. Lindsay Posner returns to the Almeida to direct Rebecca Lenkiewicz' new stage adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw from 18 January - 16 March 2013, with press night on 24 January. The cast comprises Caroline Bartleet (a woman), Laurence Belcher (Miles), Eoin Geoghegan (a man), Gemma Jones (Mrs. Grose), Anna Madeley (The Governess), Orlando Wells (Sackville) and Isabella Blake, Emilia Jones and Lucy Morton who will alternate the role of Flora. Broadway stars Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik will star as "Alex" and "Nick" in the world premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. Padgett and Hydzik will be joined on stage by the legendary Rachelle Rak in the role of "Tess." Sergio Trujillo, director and choreographer for the production returned to the home of FLASHDANCE and launch of the world premiere, Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall, to announce the lead casting from a press conference.
