The cast for the World Premiere of Stephen Ward, directed by Richard Eyre, will comprise Alexander Hanson as Stephen Ward, Charlotte Spencer as Christine Keeler, Charlotte Blackledge as Mandy Rice Davies, Anthony Calfas Lord Astor, Daniel Flynn as John Profumo, Joanna Riding as Valerie Hobson, Ian Conningham as Ivanov, Chris Howell as Murray, Ricardo Coke Thomas as Lucky Gordon and Wayne Robinson as Johnny Edgecomp. Other cast members are Martin Callaghan, Kate Coyston, Jason Denton, Julian Forsyth, Amy Griffiths, Paul Kemble, Emma Kate Nelson, Carl Sanderson, Emily Squibb, John Stacey, Helen Ternent and Tim Walton.

The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live transmissions to movie theaters, will reach its widest-ever global audience in its eighth season, which begins on October 5 with a new production of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. Met Music Director James Levine makes his highly-anticipated return to the screen with Verdi's Falstaff on December 14 and the first Live in HD performance of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte on April 26. The Live in HD series, the world's largest provider of alternative content, reaches more than 1,900 theaters in 64 countries, and offers subtitles in nine languages, including Swedish for the first time this season. To accommodate audience demand in Europe, more than 85 cinemas have been added to the HD network in Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Richard Eyre returns to the Almeida Theatre to adapt and direct Ibsen's Ghosts. Brian McCardie (Jacob Engstrand) and Charlene McKenna (Regina Engstrand) join the previously announced Lesley Manville (Helene Alving), Jack Lowden (Oswald Alving) and Will Keen (Pastor Manders). Ghosts runs from 26 September - 23 November 2013, with Press Night on 3 October. Designs are by Tim Hatley with lighting by Peter Mumford and sound by John Leonard.

According to the New York Post, Andrew Lloyd Webber recently announced that his new STEPHEN WARD musical, based on the Profumo Affair, will begin previews at the Aldwych Theatre this October with opening night set for November 2103. The musical features lyrics by Don Black, a book by Christopher Hampton and direction by Richard Eyre- all of whom where at Lloyd Webber's estate to preview excerpts from the show at his annual Sydmonton Festival. Official casting has not yet been announced.

Acclaimed rising Canadian conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the Met's production by Olivier Award-winning British director Richard Eyre, which features Barbara Frittoli as Micaëla and Teddy Tahu Rhodes as the toreador Escamillo. Christopher Wheeldon, artistic director and founder of Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, created the choreography for what remains the Met's best-selling transmission to date. Soprano Renée Fleming hosts the transmission and conducts backstage interviews with the stars.

In October this year, two of literature's best-loved characters, the charmingly incompetent Bertie Wooster and his unflappable valet Jeeves will be brought to life in a new comedy by brothers Robert and David Goodale. Sean Foley will direct Matthew Macfadyen and Stephen Mangan as the legendary duo at the Duke of York's Theatre from 30 October 2013 with opening night on 12 November.

The regular season just ended for the Metropolitan Opera--all that's left is a series of HD rebroadcasts on Lincoln Center Plaza and a couple of low profile concerts in New York City parks--and it's time for a look back at what kind of season it was. With seven new productions and 21 other operas in rep during a season that ran from the end of September to mid-May, the Met was nothing if not far-reaching in its repertoire.
