The twilight view of Central Park in all its springtime lushness set a perfect mood for Lynda Carter's show Long Legged Woman last Saturday night (April 23) at the Appel Room, which ran for two nights as part of the Jazz at Lincoln Center series. With her all-star Nashville crew, whose members have between them played on hundreds of albums (including dozens of gold records), the star best known for her iconic TV portrayal of 'Wonder Woman' performed an ambitious set covering six musical genres: pop, rock, country, Texas swing, jazz, and blues.

On Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21, Jazz at Lincoln Center will celebrate the timeless artistry of some of the most beloved vocalists and composers in American history. Throughout one weekend, the finest talents in jazz will perform The Ray Charles Songbook in Rose Theater at 8pm and Body and Soul: America's Unforgettable Crooners in The Appel Room at 7pm and 9:30pm. Trent Armand Kendall: This Crazy Love A 'Soul(ed)' Out Revue, featuring the Brass Illusion Orchestra, is set for Sunday, May 15th at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.) at The Cutting Room.

Celebrating congregational singing and a cappella music in Christian worship, The Ascending Voice IV features three main evening concerts: Cerulean- Voices Extraordinary on Thursday, May 12 directed by Ryan Board; the grand Ascending Voice Festival Choir concert on Friday, May 13 directed by world renowned choral scholar Simon Carrington; and Grammy Award-winning sensation Take 6 on Saturday, May 14.

The Wendy Osserman Dance Company celebrates its 40th Anniversary season this week, with four performances, featuring set designed by artiist Sanya Kantarovsky, running April 20 - 23, 2016 at 8 pm. Presented by the Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue), the season features two world premieres with live music by Skip La Plante and Harry Mann, and Osserman's Udjat (1985).
