Born in Peoria, Illinois, on April 10, 1962, at only 6 months, the first-born son of Richard Pryor and his first wife, Patricia Watts, had to stay in the hospital for several weeks until he reached 5 pounds - and he was so small, his parents had to buy doll socks to fit his feet.

Convinced that art can stimulate discussion and eliminate barriers, Jewish Women's Theatre (JWT) and NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change, will host the world premiere of a new theatrical collaboration and art exhibit in Santa Monica on May 6. The salon-style play will tour throughout the Southland until May 22, with a show at the IMAN Center in LA on May 11.

Rain Pryor's sold-out solo tour-de-force, Fried Chicken and Latkes, is extended to June 3 at The Braid, home of Jewish Women's Theatre (JWT), 2912 Colorado Ave., #102, Santa Monica.

American audiences first met Rain Pryor as television's first biracial child on "Head of the Class." Los Angeles audiences can now meet her up close and personal during her new solo play, FRIED CHICKEN & LATKES, in which Richard Pryor's talented daughter shares many of her childhood memories as the offspring of show business royalty, growing up African-American and Jewish in Beverly Hills during the tumultuous years when a biracial child faced prejudice from both sides of the fence. Her fascinating tales are filled with pain, poignancy, purpose, and lots of laughter as she portrays her father, mother, grandparents, and many other colorful characters who assisted her along the way to personal acceptance and adulthood.

Veteran theatre producer, Edmund Gaynes (the critically-acclaimed Zero Hour (Drama Desk Award), Danny and Sylvia, Cougar The Musical, Rain Pryor's Fried Chicken and Latkes and the long running Black Angels Over Tuskegee), has announced a new production division of his company, West End Artists, aimed at creating new projects for Broadway, Off-Broadway and key theatre markets across the country.

Following the August release of her new CD THIS JOURNEY OF LOVE, featuring a musical tribute to Natalie Cole and Horace Silver, Aziza Miller and special guests are bringing Brooklyn to Broadway! to The Iridium (1650 Broadway & 51st Street, NY 10019) on October 6th at 8 PM.
