Denver Center Theater Announces Casting For New Play Summit

The Denver Center Theatre Company has announced casting for the 2009 Colorado New Play Summit readings, which includes top talent from Denver and across the country. The Summit, which will gather theatre enthusiasts and industry professionals in Denver February 12-14, will feature the reading of a new adaptation of the classic musical THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN and readings of four new plays - EVENTIDE, WHEN TANG MET LAIKA, TAKE ME TO THE RIVER and FLOODED. The critically acclaimed production of Cyrano de Bergerac, Edmond Rostand's 1897 romantic classic with a translation and adaptation by Anthony Burgess, was recorded live on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 for PBS 'Great Performances.' It's now going to be made available on DVD on January 6, 2009. It will also be seen on PBS stations beginning January 7th, 2009 from 8-10:30pm.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Mara Manus) announced casting today for The Poor Itch, the second play of the inaugural PUBLIC LAB initiative. Directed by Lisa Peterson, The Poor Itch is a new play by the late John Belluso that will run March 7-23. Tickets are $10 for all PUBLIC LAB performances.
