The Pit Stop Players (http://www.youtube.com/user/pitstopplayers/videos?view=0), a twelve-member instrumental ensemble composed of veteran Broadway pit musicians, will present its third annual "Snapshots" concert on Monday, February 11, at 7:30 pm, at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.

Young readers are sure to be intrigued by the wide variety of shapes, sizes, and functions in flowers, fruit trees, and all sorts of other flora seen in bright and whimsical illustrations by artist Phil Smith in just released How Does a Plant Grow? NSTA's new title is written in rhyme and presents the basic structures and functions of seed plants as inquiry explorations. Including concepts of how seeds sprout to why leaves turn to the light to the vital roles of stems and roots, K-6 grade children will be inspired by the science while reciting new poems.

This chart-topping group, which was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, features three of the original band members-Steve Boone, Joe Butler and Jerry Yester- together with Mike Arturi and Phil Smith. They close out the Spencer Theater's summer season with an evening of good time music tonight, September 1 at 8 p.m.
