Mark McDonnell, producer of the award-winning documentary Chihuly in the Hotshop, will speak at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center Friday, May 21, 2001, stepping in for Dale Chihuly who has undergone a medical procedure that prevents his travel to Nashville.

There are few contemporary artists whose name is as synonymous with the medium in which he works as Dale Chihuly, who is widely regarded as the most innovative glass artist working today. Active since the 1960s, Chihuly is credited with almost single handedly elevating the postwar American studio glass movement to the international prominence it now enjoys.

EL QUIJOTE - A Miracle MainStage bilingual adaptation of a play by Santiago García - will perform May 6-29, 2010. The production, based on the novel by Miguel de Cervantes, will be directed by Olga Sanchez. The show is sponsored by Urban Robotics and the National Endowment for the Arts.

This year's Critics Circle Awards, sponsored by Actor's Equity Association, today announced is nominees for excellence in San Francisco Bay area theater. Berkeley Rep's production of American Idiot, which played in the fall of 2009, leads with 12 nominations and will open on Broadway this spring.
