The company of RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA will enter the studio on March 18 to preserve the Original Broadway Cast Recording for Ghostlight Records. The Broadway premiere of the beloved romantic musical - currently running at the Broadway Theater - has been hailed as "Resplendent with a radiant score" by the Wall Street Journal, "Pure Magic" by the Associated Press and "A full-on romantic fantasy" by the New York Post. RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is directed by Mark Brokaw. Josh Rhodes is choreographer. Music adaptation, supervision and arrangements are by David Chase. Andy Einhorn is music director and conductor.

If I had to guess, I would say previews are so exciting because they are the landmark that tells you, 'The fun is about to begin!' They are the first palm trees you see on your drive to Disney World. Although we have a long month ahead of us, chalked full of all day rehearsals and hard work, knowing that we have hit preview time is exciting and energizing.

Yesterday, December 20, Broadway's globally acclaimed revival of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO celebrated another momentous milestone and record-breaking when it played performance #6,681. With that 8 p.m. performance at the historic Ambassador Theatre, CHICAGO surpassed the original Broadway production of Les Miserables to become the third longest-running show in Broadway history. Rehearsals for RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S Cinderella will begin Thursday, December 6 with preview performances starting January 25 prior to Opening Night on Sunday, March 3. (The previously announced opening date of February 24 turned out to be Oscar Night.) The box office at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway at 53rd St.) will open Monday, December 17 at 10 a.m.

Complete casting has just been announced for the new production of RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, which begins performances in January on Broadway. RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA will perform at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway at 53rd St).
