Daniel Beaty's THROUGH THE NIGHT Plays its Final Performance on 2/21 at Crossroads Theatre.

The Marian Anderson Award has announced the guest artists for the upcoming Award Gala on April 6, 2010, at the Kimmel Center, honoring comedian and educator Bill Cosby. In announcing the program, Award Chair Pamela A. Crawley noted that 'This year is our 11th Award, and we will be honoring an individual who, like Marian Anderson, was shaped by Philadelphia and then helped shape our culture.

The Black Theatre Troupe of Phoenix, Arizona, continues their 2009-2010 season with Romulus Linney's A Lesson Before Dying, and Jubilee Theatre Artistic Director Ed Smith is the guest director for this intense stage play.

Mayor Michael Nutter announced today that Bill Cosby, Ed.D.-comedian and educator-will be the next recipient of the Marian Anderson Award. Mr. Cosby will accept the Award at a Gala Concert produced in partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra, which will take place on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
