Zephyr producing artistic director Lee Sankowich directs a 25th anniversary revival of the wickedly entertaining, exceedingly black comedy by Wendy MacLeod that became a cult classic indie film - and still lives up to its hype. The House of Yes opens May 9 at the Zephyr Theatre for a six-week run through June 14.

Rehearsals are underway for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's U.S. premiere production of The Herd, a deftly comic play by Olivier Award-winning actor Rory Kinnear and directed by ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati. The cast features ensemble members Francis Guinan as Ian, John Mahoney as Brian, Molly Regan as Carol and Lois Smith as Patricia with Cliff Chamberlain as Mark and Audrey Francis as Claire. 'Old Flame,' a new play by Richard Ploetz, weighs the force of an old romance against the strength of a 50-year marriage, examining our vulnerability to rediscovered passion, no matter what our age. Theater for the New City will present the piece April 24 to May 17, directed by James Glossman.

42nd Annual Bach Week Festival to Feature 'Brandenburg' Concertos

The 42nd annual edition of the Chicago area's Bach Week Festival will feature all six of J. S. Bach's beloved 'Brandenburg' Concertos, performed in the course of concerts April 10 at Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston and May 1 and 3 at Anderson Chapel at North Park University on Chicago's North Side. The festival is a collaboration between Bach Week and North Park's School of Music. This will be the first Bach Week Festival to present the complete 'Brandenburg' Concerto cycle. Two of the concertos will anchor each principal concert program, alongside other Bach compositions. An intimate, late-evening Candlelight Concert in Evanston on April 10 will offer music for recorder and theorbo, another festival first.

The Met Museum Celebrates Asian Art With 19 Exhibitions

2015 marks the centennial of the Metropolitan Museum's Department of Asian Art. In the Year of the Ram, which officially began during Lunar New Year in February 2015, the department will present 19 exhibitions and installations organized for a one-year celebration of its formidable holdings of art from across Asia. San Francisco, CA. - The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Hooten, principal trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, to its collegiate faculty. The former principal trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and an experienced teacher, Hooten joins a distinguished faculty of brass instructors, many of whom hold principal positions with the San Francisco Symphony, Ballet and Opera orchestras.
