The annual event took place in DC last night just as it has in past years with one glaring exception - Donald Trump was absent from his seat in the presidential box. Yet despite his non-attendance, the honorees received the full red-carpet treatment.

Sometimes referred to as the country's most dangerous editor, Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee was largely credited with taking down President Richard Nixon in 1974 after the Post broke the Watergate story, exposing the largest political scandal in American history.

GLEE creator Ryan Murphy will be the recipient of the 2018 Norman Lear Award from the Producers Guild of America. The award will be presented to Murphy at the 29th Annual Producers Guild Awards, to be held on Jan. 20 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

This year's awardees include eight films and three digital media projects. Highlights include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of John Leguizamo's latest Broadway sensation, LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS: The Road to Broadway

HBO's New Documentary 'The Newspaperman: The Life and Times of Ben Bradlee' will air at 8pm ET on December 4.
